PCB off Shoaib’s back, looks at Misbah

The now-on-now-off IPL tournament of Shoaib Akhtar seems finally on track with the PCB suspending its legal case against Shoaib Akhtar for a month. They even gave him the NOC, which made Lalit Modi very happy and he welcomed Akhtar, asking him to “Take the next flight to India”. Well, I’m feeling good for the Kolkata KnightRiders who’ve just suffered their 4th defeat in a row. They could definitely use Akhtar.

But the circumstances of the withdrawal of the case against Akhtar leave more questions unanswered. Why the sudden change of heart? And why the “1 month” suspension of the sentence? It seems like a deliberate attempt to let Akhtar play in the IPL. This smells more stinky than his original accusation.

Anyway, looks like the PCB has found something more interesting. They’re now questioning Misbah over his association with the “Royal Challenge” brand, which, as we all know, is just proxy advertising for Booze. The PCB doesn’t associate itself with alcohol as its prohibhited in Islam, and the booze brand puts him in a pickle.

Well, lets see how this turns out for Misbah, whose $125,000 salary now hangs in balance.
