I was wondering how long the hyper-businessman Vijay Mallya was going to take the dismal performance of the Bangalore Royal Challangers. I’m sure Dravid must have gotten a talking down, but it seems that the CEO of the team, Charu Sharma, bore the brunt of Mallya’s anger. He stepped down as the CEO of the team this morning. Of course, the official statement is that he had to step down because of “personal reasons”, but I have a feeling that the “personal reason” was that Mallya asked him to resign personally.
Well, I can’t even get myself to feel sorry for Charu Sharma. I still don’t understand what a CEO is doing in a cricket team!
